Mar-Vista is a 1950's suburban Development in Los Angeles.  This project aimed to create a mixed-use development in the existing neighborhood.  The design's main idea was an axis that cuts diagonally across the site to promote a walkable corridor for the entire neighborhood to access the amenities comfortably, and the building form creates inner courtyards that help preserve privacy for the homes. The north edge of the site creates a plaza area that is adjacent to a future streetcar development.
